Ring Size Guide
Since every ring at Swan Jewellry is handcrafted specifically for you, getting your size right matters. This guide covers everything you need to order with confidence.

We offer sizes from US 2 to US 16, including quarter and half sizes, on most designs.
Internal Diameter vs. Internal Circumference
Diameter is the distance straight across the inside of the ring. Circumference is the distance all the way around the inside of the ring. Either measurement can be used to find your size — the chart above shows both.
Three Ways to Measure at Home
1. Measure an Existing Ring
Take a ring that already fits the intended finger well and measure the inside diameter with a ruler in millimeters. Compare it to the chart above.
2. String or Paper Strip Method
Wrap a thin strip of paper or string snugly around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, then measure that length in millimeters against the circumference column above.
3. Printable Ring Sizer
We recommend using a printable ring sizer PDF. Important: when printing, make sure your printer settings are set to "100% scale" or "Actual Size" — not "Fit to Page." Printing at the wrong scale will give you an inaccurate size. (Ask us if you'd like this sent to you.)
Tips for an Accurate Measurement
- Measure at the end of the day — fingers are naturally slightly larger later in the day due to normal swelling, and this gives a more realistic everyday fit.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers shrink slightly in cold temperatures.
- Measuring your finger from a phone screen photo is not reliable — screen size, camera angle, and perspective distortion can throw off the measurement significantly. Please use a ruler or printed sizer instead.
- The most accurate method is always to visit a local jeweler and have them measure your finger with a professional ring sizer — this takes only a minute and is free at most jewelry stores.
Wide Band Rings
If you're ordering a wide-band signet ring (8mm or wider), we recommend sizing up by half a size from your normal ring size. Wider bands fit more snugly across a larger area of the finger, so a true-to-size wide band can feel tighter than a thinner ring of the same size.
