Oxidized Sterling Silver Rings
An oxidized sterling silver ring is darkened in its recesses so the texture stands out against polished high points. Our crater, lava, fissure and hand-carved bands are cast in 925 sterling silver, oxidized by hand and polished back, then made to order in your US size.

What oxidizing does
Oxidizing is a controlled darkening of the silver surface. We darken the whole ring, then polish the raised areas back to bright silver. The dark stays in the recesses, which gives the texture depth and a worn, vintage look from the first day.
How the finish ages
The polished high points stay bright with wear while the recesses keep their dark tone. Over years, constant contact can lighten some dark areas. A jeweler can re-oxidize the ring if you want the original contrast back.
Care
Clean with mild soap and water and dry the ring well. Avoid silver dips and polishing cloths on the dark areas, because they remove the oxidized finish. Take the ring off for swimming in chlorinated pools.
Where it is made
We make each ring by hand in our workshop in Ankara, Turkey. US orders ship free and tracked with duties paid, so there is nothing to pay on delivery. Production takes about 2 business days, then US delivery takes 5 to 7 business days.
Frequently asked questions
What is an oxidized sterling silver ring?
It is a 925 sterling silver ring with a darkened surface in its recesses. The dark finish brings out texture and gives the ring an aged look, while the raised areas stay bright.
Does oxidized silver wear off?
On high points, yes, and that is part of the look. The recesses keep their dark tone for years. A jeweler can re-oxidize the ring if you want the full contrast back.
Is oxidized sterling silver real silver?
Yes. The ring is solid 925 sterling silver all the way through. Oxidizing only changes the color of a thin surface layer and does not add any other metal.
Can oxidized silver rings be used as wedding bands?
Yes. Textured oxidized bands are a popular choice for rustic and nontraditional weddings, and our matching couple rings come in two sizes for a pair.
How do I clean an oxidized silver ring?
Use warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, then dry it well. Avoid silver dips and polishing cloths on the dark areas, as they strip the oxidized finish.
